Christophe and Geraldine Pialoux of Domaine du Picatier began making wine in 2007 in the Cote Roannaise, in the village of Saint-Haon-le-Vieux. The domaine was previously run by Pierre Rousset who handed over the seven hectare estate and cellar to the Pialoux. Geraldine was born about 30 km from the cellar, while Christophe is from Auvergne. Their first 10 years were punctuated by difficult harvests with frost and heavy hail producing very little wine, which unfortunately led them to sell the chambre d'hotes they had been working hard on developing. 

Gamentis is Gamay Noir a Jus Blanc from vines planted 50 years ago in granitic rock. 2018 was a difficult vintage due to drought, so fermentation and elevage was longer than previous vintages.
